=== openBVE version 0.8.0.1 ===

--- How to get the game running ---

In order to select the resolution to run the game at and whether to use fullscreen mode or window mode, open and edit the settings.cfg with a text editor. The file is self-documented and also allows to select between multiple rendering quality modes, allowing you to trade off quality against performance.

You can simply start the game and select a BVE route file of your choice from the dialog.

If a route contains problems, a dialog will be shown in order to help developers with debugging. You can click the Ignore button to still start the route. The dialog will only be shown in window mode, not in fullscreen mode, so use fullscreen mode only for configurations you know are working.

--- Using exterior car objects ---

In order to use exterior objects for the individual cars of a train, existing BVE trains need to be modified. The process is described on http://openbve.freeforums.org/extensions-for-existing-bve-trains-like-exterior-t133.html and allows BVE trains to be permanently equipped with external views. Without using a train that has been prepared this way, no car exterior will be visible.
